This season of life can be deeply meaningful, and unexpectedly complex.

Our approach

what to expect

You may find yourself navigating emotions that don’t match what you expected, balancing joy with anxiety, overwhelm, or a quiet sense that something feels off. The pressure to adjust, to feel connected, and to do everything “right” can build quickly, especially while continuing to show up for everyone else.

At Pearl Beech Psychology, this is a space where those experiences are understood. Care is thoughtful, specialized, and grounded in the realities of pregnancy and postpartum, offering support that helps you feel more steady, more like yourself, and better equipped to move through this season with confidence.

Pregnancy & Postpartum

This season of life can be deeply meaningful, and unexpectedly complex.

Care during pregnancy and postpartum is designed to be both supportive and structured, offering a space where you can slow down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and feel more grounded in the process.

Therapy provides a confidential, non-judgmental environment to explore the emotional shifts that can come with this season, whether that includes anxiety, postpartum mood changes, overwhelm, or a sense of disconnection from yourself or your role as a mother.

Together, we work to better understand patterns, develop practical ways to manage stress and anxiety, and create a steadier sense of confidence as you move through this transition. The focus is not only on feeling better in the moment, but on building lasting tools and support that carry into your everyday life.

Sessions are available individually or for couples, offered both in person in Bloomfield Hills and virtually, providing flexibility while maintaining a consistent, supportive experience.

This work is thoughtful, individualized, and grounded in the realities of pregnancy and early motherhood, helping you feel more connected to yourself, your experience, and your relationships.

All sessions are conducted with Dr. Kristen Ghersi Hering and begin with a thoughtful consultation to better understand what you’re experiencing and what you’re looking for from therapy. From there, care is tailored to you, including the type of sessions that best fit your needs and a cadence that feels both supportive and sustainable.

The process is collaborative and intentional, offering both a deeper understanding of what you’re navigating and a clear path forward that feels steady, personalized, and aligned with this season of your life.

Pearl Beech Psychology is led by Dr. Kristen Hering, PhD, a licensed clinical psychologist who works with women and couples who are used to being capable, composed, and high-functioning, even when things feel heavier underneath. Her work is centered around understanding the internal experience that often goes unseen, especially during seasons of anxiety, trauma, fertility and the journey into parenthood, and the transitions of pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood.

Many of the individuals who find their way here are not new to growth. They are thoughtful, self-aware, and ready for something deeper. This is a space where that level of work is understood and supported.
