Even when life looks steady on the outside, something beneath it may not feel quite right.

Our approach

On the outside, things may look steady. You’re meeting expectations, managing responsibilities, and continuing to show up the way you always have. But internally, it can feel different. A constant level of stress. A mind that stays active. Reactions that feel stronger than expected, yet difficult to shift.

For some, it’s an ongoing sense of unease. For others, it’s shaped by past experiences that still influence how they feel and respond, even when life seems fine on the surface.

This is a space to slow things down, gain a clearer understanding of what’s happening, and begin to feel more like yourself again.

individual therapy

At Pearl Beech Psychology, individual therapy is thoughtful, structured, and grounded in evidence-based care. The focus is not on quick fixes or surface-level coping, but on understanding the patterns beneath anxiety, stress, and past experiences, how they developed, and how they continue to show up in your day-to-day life.

Dr. Kristen works collaboratively, helping you build insight while also offering practical, targeted interventions. Sessions are tailored to you, whether you are navigating chronic anxiety, lingering effects of past experiences, or a heightened sense of pressure and internal tension.

The goal is clarity, steadiness, and a more regulated, grounded way of moving through your life.

Even when life looks composed on the outside, anxiety and unresolved experiences can quietly influence everything beneath it.

what to expect

You may look composed on the outside, managing responsibilities, meeting expectations, and showing up the way you always have. But internally, it can feel very different. A constant undercurrent of anxiety. A mind that doesn’t shut off. Reactions that feel disproportionate, but hard to control.

For some, it’s a steady sense of unease. For others, it’s rooted in experiences that still live in the body, even when life appears “fine” on the surface.

This is a space to slow that down, understand it more clearly, and begin to feel more like yourself again.

Sessions with Dr. Kristen are intentional and paced in a way that allows for both depth and stability. Early work focuses on understanding your experiences, identifying patterns, and building a foundation of trust and awareness.

From there, therapy moves into more focused work, helping you process what feels unresolved, reduce the intensity of anxiety responses, and shift the ways you relate to your thoughts and experiences.

You can expect a balance of insight and direction, with support that is consistent, steady, and attuned to your needs. Sessions are available individually or for couples, both in person in Bloomfield Hills and virtually.

For The Individuals Who Feel

Schedule an Appointment

Pearl Beech Psychology is led by Dr. Kristen Hering, PhD, a licensed clinical psychologist who works with women and couples who are used to being capable, composed, and high-functioning, even when things feel heavier underneath. Her work is centered around understanding the internal experience that often goes unseen, especially during seasons of anxiety, trauma, fertility and the journey into parenthood, and the transitions of pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood.

Many of the individuals who find their way here are not new to growth. They are thoughtful, self-aware, and ready for something deeper. This is a space where that level of work is understood and supported.
